Our farm is located on Kaloko Drive in  Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. This is on the Big Island of Hawaii.

We have a suit, gloves, veils and jackets with veils for you to borrow. However, if you have your own gear or would rather wear something that fits you best, please bring your own.

We are not currently offering a full in-person beekeeping class due to COVID-19. However, we do have a waiting list for our in-person classes. If you are interested in an in person class over the online class, please email us at [email protected] requesting to be added to our waiting list. You are not obligated to sing up for the class if you are added to this list. It will just save your sot for our next class.

Yes. You are welcome to bring up to 2 people with you to hang out with us and the bees. However, children must be at least 12 years of age and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Your morning with the beekeeper will be approximately 3 hours. However, you are welcome to stay for less. 

You will be watching us as we tend to our hives and inspect them. We recommend watching at least the first few chapters of the online class because you will be able to follow along better as we inspect frames. You are welcome to ask as many questions as you like, hold a frame of bees, try to spot the queen and help us inspect a hive. 

The more questions you ask, the more you'll learn!

A big part of this time with the beekeeper isn't about learning what to do, but observing the bees and getting comfortable being around them.

This hands-on time with the bees is a complimentary part of our online beekeeping class to help people feel more comfortable being around bees. If you cannot visit our farm, you have all of the knowledge of how to keep bees in our online class. When I first started, I had never been around a live beehive and it went just fine! The bee suit and gloves will help to calm your nerves as you get to know your hive.

If, at some point, you find yourself visiting the Big Island, let us know and stop by! I would love to meet you and hear your beekeeping stories.

You will need a car to get to our farm. There is no public transportation that goes to our neighborhood.

We are approximately 8 miles from the Kona International airport. We recommend having a car because although it is easy to find a taxi at the airport to take you to our farm, it can be difficult to find a taxi to pick you up and take you back to the airport.

Yes! There are numerous hotels and AirB&B's on Kaloko Drive and in Kailua-Kona. Kona is a small town. Even the hotels in downtown Kona (on the water) are just a 25 minute drive to our farm.
