Our bee farm is currently located in Kona, Hawaii, where we have no frost and so there's a very high varroa mite and small hive beetle population.
I also kept bees in Pennsylvania where we had cold winters and incredibly hot summers.
Although beekeeping tasks vary depending on your climate zone, the principles of beekeeping do not change.
I believe a big part of beekeeping, is being a detective. It is not only important to know what to do, but when to do it. The only way to really know when a task needs to be done is by looking at what's going on in your environment and in your beehive. Seasons vary year to year and the beekeeper needs to pay attention to this no matter how many years they've been keeping bees.
